Muskingum adds second multi-purpose turf athletics field
Expanding its investment in athletics, Muskingum University announced that a second, multi-purpose turf athletic field is being added to north 麻豆传媒映画 to accommodate additional athletic events and practices. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2017.
The new turf field will host men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer and men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 lacrosse competitions beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, and can also host football practices as well. With the completion of its second turf field, Muskingum becomes one of only a select number of NCAA Division III institutions in the region with multiple turf athletic venues.
鈥淎s part of our holistic approach to education, students at Muskingum are encouraged to participate in a variety of co-curricular activities, and the popularity of athletics and intramurals in particular has created the need for an additional multi-purpose space,鈥� said Philip Laube, Vice President of Business and Finance at Muskingum University. 鈥淎 second turf field will create scheduling flexibility for our athletic and intramural programs, as well as additional opportunities to collaborate with our community partners.鈥�
Preparations for the field will include the space and infrastructure necessary for future expansion projects, including features like stadium lighting, a press box and a concession area.
