With a Middle Childhood Education major at Muskingum, you will become a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio who encourages, equips, and empowers students in grades 4 through 9 in two different content areas to reach their highest potential.

Earn your license from the State of Ohio in Primary Education, grades 4-9 in two different content areas (choice of Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts).
Graduates find employment in public and private pre-schools, school districts, and other early childhood educational settings.
Muskingum University offers programs that lead to licensure or certification. These programs prepare students for licensure or certification based on the requirements set by the State of Ohio. Students who plan to seek licensure or certification in other states will need to contact that State Licensure Board for specific requirements.
